Altaitude (2018) is a 26-minute documentary directed by Dominique Snyers. It follows two individuals—Damien and Dom—as they ski across the high summits of the Altai mountain range, spanning Mongolia, China, and Russia, over the course of three weeks. Isolated in a small yurt at their high-altitude base camp, they face early spring storms, must overcome personal differences, and learn to survive together in a vast snowy wilderness. Damien, freed from modern electronic distractions, attunes to the sacred dimension of the Tavan Bogd mountains and the cultural connections its inhabitants foster with the landscape.
