In spring 2016, eight professional canyoneers from around the world met in Taiwan to attempt one of the longest self-supported canyoning descents on Earth: an eight-day first descent of the Malishan River. With little more than satellite images, a rarely updated map, and sparse local information, the team faced weather setbacks, complex terrain, and constant uncertainty. After an intense eight-day mission, they returned as the first to complete an expedition of this scale. This is their story.
