The Vuelta a Burgos Féminas 2026 kicked off in spectacular fashion between the iconic start at Burgos Cathedral and the finish in the Gamonal district. 🚴♀️ The stage began with a three-rider breakaway, with Nina Gissinger and Asia Cagnazzo ultimately managing to stay out front for most of the day. ⛰️ Gissinger secured the mountain classification points before both were caught just 17 km from the finish. 💥 Everything came down to a bunch sprint in the streets of Burgos, where Lorena Wiebes proved to be the fastest by far, taking a dominant victory—her 125th professional win—and claiming the overall race lead. 👉 Start at Burgos Cathedral 👉 Breakaway caught in the final kilometers 👉 Gissinger takes mountain points 👉 Mass sprint in Gamonal 👉 Victory and leader’s jersey for Lorena Wiebes 🔥 First stage, first statement of power in Burgos.
