Stage 2 of the 2026 Vuelta a Burgos took the peloton from Arcos de la Llana to the explosive summit finish at Valle del Sol, where the race favourites delivered a thrilling battle for victory. The breakaway of the day featured Yago Aguirre, Diego Uriarte, Rodrigo Álvarez, Ryan Boulahoite and Javier Ibáñez. After the escape split apart, the last survivor was caught with just 5 kilometres remaining. On the final climb, Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe raised the pace, although INEOS Grenadiers took control before the attacks began. Jay Vine launched the first move, followed by a brave attack from Mario Aparicio, before Jarno Widar once again reduced the group of favourites. Everything came down to an exciting uphill sprint between Oscar Onley and Giulio Ciccone, with the Brit claiming his first victory for his new team and pulling on the leader's jersey of the 2026 Vuelta a Burgos. #VueltaABurgos #OscarOnley #GiulioCiccone #MarioAparicio #JayVine #JarnoWidar #Cycling #Ciclismo #ValleDelSol #Highlights
