The second stage of the 2026 Vuelta a Burgos Women took the peloton from Castrojeriz to the final circuit finishing in front of Bodega Viña Pedrosa, on a completely flat day packed with tension until the final sprint. 🚴♀️ The day began with major news: Petra Stiasny, one of the favourites after her victory at L'Angliru, did not start this second stage. 💥 Although the route featured no categorized climbs, attacks started immediately. After multiple attempts in the first 30 kilometres, Elena De Laurentiis, Marta Pavesi and Stine Marie Snortheim managed to break away. 🔥 Pavesi was one of the most active riders of the day and received the combativity award after several aggressive moves. 🚴♀️ Once the breakaway was caught with 22.4 km remaining, attacks exploded again on the final circuit, with Sara Martín and Sara Casasola particularly active. ⚡ SD Worx–Protime controlled the race once more and increased the pace in the closing kilometres. A crash inside the final 5 km split the peloton, but the top sprinters avoided trouble. 🏁 After the lead-out by Barbara Guarischi and Mischa Bredewold, Lorena Wiebes once again proved unstoppable to take another sprint victory. 👉 Flat stage between Castrojeriz and Pedrosa de Duero 👉 Absence of Petra Stiasny 👉 Breakaway featuring De Laurentiis, Pavesi and Snortheim 👉 Attacks on the final circuit 👉 Another victory for Lorena Wiebes #VueltaABurgosFeminas #LorenaWiebes #Cycling #WomenCycling #Burgos #Sprint #SDWorx
