The third stage of the 2026 Vuelta a Burgos Women delivered one of the most spectacular finales of the race, with Mischa Bredewold taking victory in Medina de Pomar after an intense chase of Mireia Benito. 🚴♀️ The Spanish rider attacked with 27 kilometres remaining and built an advantage of up to 1 minute and 24 seconds, dreaming of a solo victory. ⛰️ At the top of Alto de Bocos, Benito still held a 40-second lead over a very reduced favourites group. 💥 From that group, Bredewold launched her move, taking Amanda Spratt and Silke Smulders with her in the chase. 🔥 When the gap dropped to just 12 seconds, Bredewold attacked again solo and eventually caught Benito with 6 kilometres to go. 🚴♀️ Both riders worked together until the finish to resist the chasing group, but in the final sprint Bredewold proved clearly stronger. 🏁 Behind them, Lorena Wiebes won the sprint of the chasing group to complete the podium and also secured the 400th victory in SD Worx–Protime team history. 👉 Long-range attack by Mireia Benito 👉 Bredewold catches the Spaniard solo 👉 Thrilling finish in Medina de Pomar 👉 Wiebes completes the podium 👉 Victory number 400 for SD Worx–Protime #VueltaABurgosFeminas #MischaBredewold #LorenaWiebes #MireiaBenito #Cycling #WomenCycling #Burgos
