Starting at the End of the World | Japan by Bikepacking Ep.1

In this first episode of the Japan by Bikepacking series, I begin a unique adventure in Hokkaido, the wildest and most sparsely populated island in the country. The journey starts in Wakkanai, Japan’s northernmost point, known as “the end of the Japanese world.” From here, I’ll cycle over 700 km in 9 stages, crossing endless coastlines, empty villages, and landscapes that reveal how depopulation is transforming this region.
