The Paddler takes viewers on an action-packed adventure through the landscapes and communities of Clayoquot Sound and the Great Bear Rainforest. Bob Purdy, known as the “Standup PaddleSurfing, Elder in Training” from “Paddle for the Planet,” has been paddling every day since January 1, 2011, to “Change the Way we Live on the Planet,” one paddle at a time. He is also the founder of “World Paddle for the Planet Day,” a global initiative aimed at sending a “Wave of Change” around the world. The film features three Tofino locals: artist Roy Henry Vickers, extraordinary surfer and paddler Catherine Bruhwiler, and veteran whale watcher John Forde.
