UNDER [SI:] documents the creation of the underwater eco-museum located near Sainte-Marguerite Island in Cannes. Designed by sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, the project involves the immersion of six monumental sculptures made from environmentally friendly marine materials. Cast from the faces of local residents, the sculptures are intended to become a habitat for marine biodiversity. Through interviews with marine biologists and local stakeholders, the film explores the challenges of aquatic conservation. Covering the process from the first castings in 2018 to the final immersion in 2021, the documentary offers an in-depth look at the artistic and ecological dimensions of the project.
