This documentary follows Nalle Hukkataival as he surveys potential climbing lines across the Chihuahuan Desert, examining rock formations with changing texture, height, and approach angles. The dry environment adds complexity, with abrasive surfaces and long access distances. The film documents how he evaluates route possibilities, maps movement sequences, and studies isolated boulders and walls. Technical pauses reveal precise analysis of grips, body positioning, and stability in exposed terrain. Viewers gain insight into the mental challenge behind route identification, where rock density and desert weather demand constant adjustment and careful resource use.
